Mark Schaay

General Manager, Alt Hotel Halifax Airport

Mark started his career with Starwood hotels and after 9 years spent in all operational roles he left to open the Le Germain hotel in Calgary. Mark found his passion in openings and working for Groupe Germain. During his 3 years at Le Germain Calgary he also acted as an Ambassador for the opening of the Alt Hotel Toronto Airport. Mark moved to Halifax 4 years ago and opened the Alt Hotel Halifax Airport and is now currently assisting in the opening of the Alt Hotel in St John’s Newfoundland. He loves building teams, achieving objectives all in a fast pace environment. He was nominated for Hotelier of the year in 2015 and enjoys working with the local schools whenever called upon. Mark was very proud to work with the second place team last year and looks forward to assisting if he can.
